Care Instructions

Caring for Your Handcrafted Jewellery & Taonga

Our pieces are handcrafted using natural materials such as pounamu (greenstone), bone, wood, and acrylic. With proper care, your taonga will last for many years.

General Care
• Avoid dropping or knocking your jewellery against hard surfaces.
• Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or bathing.
• Avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products.
• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

Pounamu (Greenstone)
• Clean gently with warm water and a soft cloth.
• You may apply a very small amount of natural oil (such as olive or coconut oil) to enhance shine.
• Do not use harsh cleaners or abrasives.

Bone & Wood
• Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
• Avoid soaking in water.
• A small amount of natural oil can be used occasionally.

Acrylic
• Clean with a soft cloth and mild soapy water if needed.
• Avoid solvents or alcohol-based cleaners.

Cord & Hardware
• Waxed cords may naturally soften over time.
• Avoid excessive water exposure to extend cord life.
